When we first decided to publish “The Respian Man,” we were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, full of optimism that the book would be a success. But as we started doing research on what to expect as self-published authors, we were soon forced to face the bleak facts about self-published books that planted a deep-rooted seed of doubt in our bellies.
According to WordsRated.com, over 90% of self-published books sell under 100 copies during their lifetime. And with Amazon taking over 80% of total sales between printing and publishing costs, that means that most books only make a couple of hundred dollars… total! We began to wonder if it was worth the effort to publish, and if we would ever recoup the costs of designing the cover, printing advanced copies, advertising, and so much more. We soon decided that our first goal would be to beat the statistics and sell more than 100 copies.
As of this week, we’ve officially sold more than 100 copies of “The Respian Man!” This means we’ve outsold 90% of other self-published authors, and while we still have a long way to go, we are well on our way to beating the odds (and hopefully at least breaking even).Thank you to everyone who has helped make this happen by buying our book. It is truly such a blessing to be able to share this journey with you. If you haven’t bought a copy yet, we encourage you to check out our reviews on Amazon.

Check out the options available for purchase, here. Or to learn more about “The Respian Man,” visit the About page. If over 100 people have bought the book, and it has almost 60 reviews, averaging 4.7 stars, it can’t be that bad, right?
Sincerely, Mark & Sarah
