The creation of Oswella started over four years ago with the question.
“What would another dimension look like in a world where the Biblical flood never occurred”
Creating the Map: Putting pen to paper, Mark began creating the new world. Hand-drawing each detail, Mark crafted the outlines, the continents taking shape.
Then, the mountains, rivers, and landscape appeared, decorating the ground. Next came naming each continent, nation, and city. At last, after many hours of work, the world of Oswella was born.
Detailing the History: Pulling inspiration from the elaborate maps he had crafted, Mark began to unravel the history of Oswella. He pulled inspiration from some of the greatest fantasy books of all time, and starting at the creation of the world, he wrote about the events and people that shaped Oswella. Soon with over one hundred pages of Oswellan history documented, the cultures and religions of the nations developed, and the current-day monarchs and religious leaders came to life, allowing Mark to detail their motivations, religious beliefs, and alliances.
The Story: The detailed maps and history of Oswella then gave rise to our book, The Respian Man. In the book, as Preston finds himself in the middle of a battle in the Isolated Isles. The complexity of the world brings his adventure to life. Experienced through Preston’s eyes, the reader gets the thrill of uncovering the secrets lurking in the shadows of Oswella.
